Journey

There are a number of different ideas combined in this piece. The Chinese calligraphy in the centre means journey and this is also indicated by the four directions within the powerful symbolism of the cross.

23 carat gold in bright, satin and matt finishes. 18 carat bright Chinese characters. The background in the cross is an exploration in the patination available by combining oil and water gilding techniques. Frame by Murdoch and Barclay
