Rainbow serpent

This piece is based on the idea of the rainbow serpent moving through the land. The story of the rainbow serpent is a common one across many Aboriginal groups in Australia. The intriguing aspect of this picture is the way the serpent, being bright gilded, seems to disappear when viewed from certain angles and dominates the landscape background at other angles. It represents the way the spirit of the rainbow serpent is sometimes seen , sometimes not.
