Woman (pouring wine)

This image was inspired by an illustration on a membership certificate of The Order of Rechabites from around the turn of the century. I thought it intriguing to have a woman pouring wine on the certificate of a temperance society.

23 carat gold, bright finish, engraved on glass. The engraving technique used here is seen in the earliest glass gilding pieces and was the dominant method used in the religious works from Italy in the 14th century. The only difference is I use a pure gelatin size for water gilding instead of egg white size (glair), which was used back then.
