Dingley Village mural

grandfinal

A mural project in the shopping precinct of Dingley Village. This centrally located electricty supply unit and wall was an eyesore and detracted from the amenity of the shopping precinct. It couldn't be removed or hidden, so using it for a painting was the best option.

Dingley Village, south east of Melbourne, is a wetlands area with a diverse bird population so I choose to use this as a theme. I spent some time in the extensive parkland to photograph birds and local flora.

The painting includes Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Yellow-billed Spoonbill, Black Swan, Pacific Black Ducks, Australian Pelicans, Eastern Rosella, Masked Lapwing and Nankeen Kestrel. All of these where observed in the area.
