Umami

Umami is the new section of Misuzu's Japanese Restaurant. It is open in the evenings for sakana and Japanese entrees accompanied by fine wines and sake.

The signs flow through the windows of three shopfronts which make up the restaurant. Each room has it's own characteristics and the signs reflect this. An unusual feature of the sign is the use of transparent glazes that allow the light to come through.

23 carat gold with reverse painted transparent glazes and nature printing using Japanese maple leaves.
